Vegetable Gardens

Backyard vegetable gardens do more than just produce food.  Vegetable gardening relieves stress, burns calories and is great for the environment.  Replacing lawn areas with vegetable beds, cuts down on mowing, which cuts down on gas costs and fuel emissions.  This provides us with cleaner air and more time to spend with our families.  Gardening in raised beds creates proper drainage and less weeds.  It also gives the gardener the ability to amend the soil, to the specific needs of the plant they are growing.  Small children can help with the garden, allowing them to learn about responsibility and the rewards of their actions.  The biggest asset of your vegetable garden is of course, the organic, home grown, HEALTHY food it will provide you with.
